The German Deputy-Foreign Minister Gunther Glozer, who is also in charge of European Affairs, has stressed the need for the removal of the international isolation of the Turkish Cypriot People.
He also added that the EU has been searching for ways towards lifting this isolation.
In an interview to a Greek newspaper, the German Deputy-Foreign Minister, whose country now holds the EU term-presidency, said that the German presidency will hold talks with member states, especially with the Greek Cypriot Administration, with the aim of lifting the international isolation.
As for Turkey’s EU membership, he stated that the EU has given a clear message to Turkey reminding it of its obligations which arise from the Ankara Protocol and added that the most important thing is to leave the door open for Turkey.
