The TRNC Washington representative Hilmi Akil has said that the Greek Cypriot Side was adopting an unconstructive attitude towards finding a solution to the Cyprus Problem.
He also said that the Greek Cypriot Administration was against the idea of sharing political power with Turkish Cypriots in any future settlement on the island.
In his letter of reply to the Washington Times regarding a Greek Cypriot article published in the same newspaper, the newly appointed Washington representative accused the Greek Cypriot Administration of exaggerating the presence of the Turkish Peace forces in Cyprus.
He reminded that it was the Greek Cypriot Side that had overwhelmingly rejected the Annan Plan which envisaged a phased withdrawal of all armed forces on the island.
Mr. Akil also pointed out that the Greek-Greek Cypriot Duo were doing all in their power to prevent the European Council from keeping its promise to remove the international isolation of the Turkish Cypriot people.
