FM Avci: The Priority should be opening of Lokmaci Gate
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Turgay Avci evaluated the Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Lillikas' statement that they would "open 8 crossing points".
Speaking during a visit paid to him yesterday (13 March), Foreign Minister Avci stated that the priority should be the opening of the Lokmaci border gate, which has been on the agenda for a long time before considering the opening of other crossings.
Reiterating the Turkish Cypriot side's readiness to open the Lokmaci border gate, the Foreign Minister said that "preconditions" put forward by the Greek Cypriot side did not reflect a stance of good will.
Avci stressed that they had the responsibility help the Turkish Cypriots to open to the world and systematically and determinedly continued to follow their path with good intention.
