Can TRNC live and work in Turkey quite easily and with out the need of visa's and work permits. Can I enter Turkey with my kimlik card when travelling from the UK, or should I applu for a TRNC passport. When i go to Turkey with a UK passport I can only stay 3 months and they are getting quite strick if you overstay. Can anyone tell me what the score is with TRNC citizens when visiting Turkey. Thanks John |

I would think the best place for you to go for the info you require is the Turkish Embassy.

Hi Yorgozlu So when you enter Turkey with your kimlik card can you stay as long as you like or if you decide to stay do you have to register at the police or anything. Do you get a stamp when entering Turkey. Can TRNC citizens work as well, do you just show your kimlik card as ID or do you need to get a work permit or anything. Thanks in advance

You can use your kimlik card when entering Turkey only if you come from TRNC. So if you wish to enter Turkey witht he TRNC card, then you have to come to TRNC first and then travel from TRNC to Turkey. I am not sure how long you can stay in Turkey with a TRNC kimlik card without registration with the immigration. I think its only three months. Not sure really. I hope somebody who knows these things for certain answers your question but I am certain that you cannot enter Turkey with the TRNC card when travelling from UK. ismet PS: When I go on holiday I use my UK passport to enter Turkey and pay the visa fee, otherwise I will not be allowed to leave Turkey with my kimlik and go to a country other than TRNC.

If you're thinking of settling here in Turkey then you'll need to enter on a KKTC passport, not just kimlik card. With a kimlik card you can only stay up to 3 months (used to be 1 month, but I believe it's now 3). No permissions/visa required, but you do have to go and register where you're living with the Nufus Kayit Dairesi. At any point you can go and get Turkish citizenship just by proving your KKTC citizenship by the way..

Thanks AllyTT. I think the best thing for me to do is apply for a KKTC passport, as I have a kimlik card I am sure I am eligible. When I enter with a KKTC passport can I stay there for as long as I like? Thanks John

Ismet For once, you're not making sense. Airplane arrives from UK as another arrives from TRNC so clearing customs/passport control how on earth do they know the departed destination you've come from?! Richard
