is anyone interested in a motor boat for when the new marina is finished would suggest a group of up to 5 shareholders so we could all benefit from the shared cost and have a better boat. Open to suggestions whether it is new or a few years old up to say 2003 onwards.Probably between 30ft and 50 ft i am open minded.Thses boats cost from £100k to £600k new and £50k to £300k second hand so is ideal if you want to use it for two or three weeks a year each.obviously you could have more shareholdersd and reduce cost but believe we should know each other to maximise safety , maintenance and general comraderie

I was just giving an example for my use would be 3to 4 weeks when I retire would be more however many sharers there are it would be fully allocated except for annual service and lifting perhaps each year would use the new copper anti fouls to reduce this.If you own a boat outright you have a full cost of capital and maintenance , marina fees and insurance shared would reduce all by say 80% or have a larger boat.I have seen schemes where there are 12 owners and quite frankly paying rip off fees to management company and for the boat it self.As Qualified Accountant you can rest assurred I do not intend to make out of this like some toe rags do.It is simply to get value for money and boats are better being used than layed up for months on end.in my case if it was 20% share I would not use it for that but if you look into how much it costs to hire one about £10k to 20k each week depending on make/size you soon see it makes sense.

You will end up owning a great boat but with no where to moor it. The marina has been talked about for years!
