Hi all,

Returned yesterday from chelsey village!!! with a big smile

The site looks fantastic and the finish to our apartment is fab, snagging was a breeze !!only a few chipped tiles and a touch up here and there.Aigreim suggested if we didn't want the standard ceiling roses to go shop for lighting, which we did.Ypd fitted them at no extra cost!! I could not beleive how clean the apartment was!! not a speck of dust, windows were spotless, tiles spotless and it still had to have the builders clean. We could have moved in there and then...fantastic.

Phase 2 is almost complete and the restaurant and pool will be open in April.

Ypd are still not sure if electric meters will be available from next month, so if you are going out soon to stay in your apartment you will have a supply of temp electric at 120 ytl a month.

The staff were fantastic, we were greeted as always with coffee and biscuits.

Going back out in june, cant wait!!!

Hi Jackie,

Good to hear that everything is looking good. We're over in 4 weeks time and were hoping the pool and restaurant would be open in time. Is this guaranteed? I thought they probably wouldn't fill the pool until the road was finished.

Hi anne,

I was told by dill and aigreim the pool and restaurant will open the middle of april. The kings road will be finished in june, july when phase 2 is complete.

I am confident this will happen as the build is going very well.

The build standard is fantastic with attention to detail and the trades men seem to clean as they go....fantastic!!!

Hi Jackie,

Glad you had an enjoyable visit. Like you, we were very happy with the snagging on our apartment. YPD really are a good company to deal with. I've had to agree to the monthly fee for electric as we are heading out soon and I wanteed a connection for my visit. I have ordered the furniture and curtains through Aigerim and she tells me everything is on track. Also agreed a good deal with Dill for the hire of a ford focus, £16/ day. Thats the best deal I've seen so far for a 7 day hire...

Where did you go for your lighting?

Really looking forward to the visit now.

Hi Arty,

I bet you are both looking forward to your visit,

We bought our lighting from elektokur ( I think thats how you spell it ) for the kitchen /dineing area.

Its in girne, Aigreim will give you directions , I am just usless. :(

I have also ordered my curtains from aigreim. We also installed our bathroom fixtures, £104 for both bathrooms with fitting, no bad !!

When shopping arty make sure you have sterling/lira, some shops price in sterling and others in lira.. you always get a discount when you pay cash. Wait till you over to buy lira...you get a better rate.

This electric meter connection is a pain in the butt, its the same for everyone on the island waiting for meters ,Arty, just another way for kibtek to rip us for more money.

Hello Jackie

Great to hear you had such a good time, and that your appartment was looking fab, it was really good to have positive feed back especially as we are your next door neighbours. As we are going out on May 12th. we have lots of questions and were wondering if you would be agreeable to e.mailing us off forum, with perhaps if o.k with you a chat on the phone later,so we can pick your brains.

Jackie,

Who installed your bathroom fittings? Was it YPD or someone local? We are bursting to get out there. Can't wait.

I've agreed the temp connection for the electric. No option I suppose!!

I don't know if you are aware of a small restaurant called Alistairs! Its on the main road into Girne on the corner of the entrance to Oscars Hotel on the right hand side. I can highly recommend it if you are in the mood for snack type food, nothing too heavy. Alisatair is a lovely guy and he does a mean kebab dish with rice and salad followed by fried ice cream. Man i'm drooling here just thinking about it.... Very inexpensive

We also visited a really small bar called "the antique bar" just past Esentepe, again just off the main road on the left hand side before the Medview forrest resort. Its Run by a local guy called Al and an English guy called Robin. We had a great night there and they made us feel very welcome.

Did you try the new bar/restaurant in Arapkoy?

Catch you soon

Pipie, as you are heading west towards the airport road, over the mountains, the road to Araykoy is not far after the cut off to Esentepe. Not very well signposted so you need to watch out for it. Fantastic location and YPD are a great developer to work with.

There are quite a few people on this forum who have bought there and I'm sure you will find us all very helpfull if you require any information

Hi Arty,

Ypd supplied the fittings.

We passed the restaurant in the village, always looked deserted and not very inviting..if I got the right one ?

We had a brill lunch at the greenhill restaurant on the main road before the turn off for chelsey. Mr Friday was a gem even though it was sunday before we ate he! he!

When do you guy's fly out ?

Make sure you bring lots of bits an pieces with you.

We arrived with 50kg!! as well as hand luggage and returned with 20kg total.

We are back in june, so we will try the eating places you mention.

best wishes

jackie

Can anyone tell me if there are any good/ decent furniture shops nearby, don,t want to pay over the top but don,t want rubbish either. Looks like a few are out at the same time, should be good fun.

Hi all,

Just had some news from Dill.

Anyone coming out to stay in their apartment for 2/3 weeks will have free temp electric till meters are installed.

Another great service!!!

İf you need someone to look after your villa whilst you are away please let me know. I can take care of cleaning - gardening - payment of bills - car hire - airport pickups - boat trips - emails and photos. For those moving over with their pets I can visit the kennels in Nicosia to feed and walk during their quarrantine.
