Hello, long while since I posted but I am now getting serious about buying a small low cost place just to get my toe in the market. Maybe also keep some of my spare cash away from risky banks ;o) So where might I find a 2 bed resale flat or even village house with secure title please? My options are open as my priority is to get something without being too picky, so compromises can easily be made. I read that it is a buyer's market out in TRNC at present, but that seems too simplistic a description ! All help is greatly appreciated, and I can be mailed off-list if preferred. cheers guin

Go have a look at Sunningwell in Lapta, http://www.squirelltd.com, Sergy still has 2 bed apartments for less than 40K. 2 swimming pools onsite, low monthly maintenance charges. Worth a look

Forum member Kezspot is also selling. She has a lovely 2 bed villa in Dogankoy. Great location as it's within walking distance of Lemar Supermarket and a number of good shops/restaurants etc. I guess it depends on your budget but you could always send her an email.

Hi I have a 2 bedroom apartment close to the golf course, almost finished, very spacious, and asking £50.000 for it, should sell for around £60.000 when finished, but need to move it sooner rather than later. For more info just let me know.

Thank you all for your wonderful responses both here and off-list. I am quite surprised that I should get so many responses so quickly. I will make contact as suggested in the postings above. But to clarify a little. I appreciate that there are 'bargains' out there. But a 100k villa for 80k, or a 60k flat for 48k, is not what I am looking for. Its just a basic place (flat or village house) with 2 beds at the cheap end that I am keen on. There are a few around advertised for sub 35000 which are all negotiable downwards for a quick sale. We intend to make a short list and pop-out for a few days and enjoy the Pia Bella breakfasts ! Some of you may recall that I do travel to the island regularly on my professional business so am aware of the situation, localities and relative values. But don't have a business trip lined-up for a few weeks - unfortunately - but there are some cheap fares in November. Again my great thsanks for your warm response. cheers guin

It is definately possible to purchase a two bed apartment for the price range that you are looking at. Does it have to be a finished apartment or are you just looking for the best investment you can find???

Thanks KKJ, We are on the same lines of thought. Furnished or not would not be an issue, but we would happily takeover reasonable furniture. As an expatriate worker I am used to living in rented flats and using other people's furniture. A presence in TRNC is the priority, furniture is secondary. A good deal is the most important aspect ! Appreciate your help. cheers guin

Whatever you buy check a kochan actually exists first. Buying anythnig half-finished prob won't have. Good luck but dont leave yr brain at home.

Thank RnR I am trying to avoid the non-existent kocan problem by buying resale. The definition being that it is a property that exists in its entirity and has been occupied and with all paperwork intact. As for the whereabouts of my brains, I am relieved that you take concern. At 60 years old I may have lost some of the grey cells, but working in TRNC and the south for 2 years has taught me a lot about the property market. So generally my brains remain attached, though my grandchildren may at times disagree ! Your contribution is appreciated. cheers guin

Well I have followed-up some of your suggestions, but as you can see in message 10 I am looking at sub 35000 and prefereably a lot less. So I hope that those mentioning some sales at higher pices appreciate that I will not be contacting them further, but your kind thoughts are appreciated. I am unable to link to http://www.squirelltd.com as suggested. I have tried various versions of the address but without result. Please keep them coming, thank you. cheers guin
