The Escape Beach Club: a fabulous family beach

Escape Beach is probably one of the best beaches in Northern Cyprus, even without the fantastic facilities on offer. The beach curves round in a gentle bay fringed with trees and protected by the foothills of the Kyrenia Mountains. Kids will love the golden sands and shallow waters, and sun lovers will adore the comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas provided. Just a few minutes drive from Kyrenia, you can easily park your North Cyprus hire car right at the Escape Beach Club in their large car park. It costed 10 YTL per person in 2006 summer for the full use of the beach and all facilities.

Everywhere you turn at the Escape Beach Club, you'll find friendly staff ready to help make your time here as enjoyable as possible. Want a cooling drink? One will appear! Feeling a little hungry? The Escape Beach Club restaurant is open from 9am to 11pm at night, and when we say open we mean open - to the cooling sea breezes, as the open-sided restaurant enjoys uninterrupted views across the sea!

The daytime menu includes breakfast for the early birds (or the late risers!), tasty appetizers such as fried calamari, plus salads, pasts and fresh fish for the parents. The kids will be delighted with a choice of pizzas, kebabs, wraps and the inevitable burgers, but hey, they're on holiday too! If you've got room, there are desserts on offer too.

If you need to work off all that lunch, then look no further than the watersports on offer at the Escape Beach Club. Take a leisurely trip around the bay in a pedal boat, or paddle your own canoe and watch the tiny fish in the shallows. The more energetic can skim the waves on a jet ski, or bounce along on a banana boat – don't forget to video Dad falling off! Or, try your hand at volleyball on the special court at the Club. The Escape Beach Club also offers scuba diving lessons at their own school for both beginners and experienced divers, but you should dive before lunch, to work up your appetite!

At the end of a long day at the beach, it's good to know that the Club has showers and a clean changing area, so you can leave the sand on the beach, and not in the car! If you want to stay sand-free, you can always relax on the lawns beside the shore, and watch the rest of the world getting gritty instead!

5 Mile Restaurant & Disco Bar

The venue at Escape also includes 5 Mile Restraurant which is one of the good restaurants in Kyrenia. The name comes from the location of the Escape Beach Club and 5 Mile Restaurant Bar which is 5 miles west of Kyrenia.

You can sip your exotic cocktail made by the talanted bartenders at 5 Mile as you admire the beauty of the Escape shore. 5 Mile Restaurant is open for dinner between 19:00 and 23:30. For reservations, you may call 0392 821 8084.

Escape Beach Club North Cyprus By Night

At night, the Escape Beach Club changes into one of the hottest club venues in North Cyprus, with a reputation for bringing top djs to the island. Best of all, the Club is open air, so you can dance under the stars in the cooling sea breezes. As you look across the water, you can see the little island in the bay lit up with the words "Escape", so you'll never forget where you are!

You'll always find a crowd out for a great time at the Escape Beach Club, since it is a popular venue for engagement parties, birthday parties, and general good nights with friends. The music has broad appeal too, focussing on R&B and hip-hip, plus chart dance tracks from Europe and Turkey. The club is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays during the summer season, regular with special event nights.

Even the restaurant menu at Escape Beach Club becomes more sophisticated at night, with dishes such as Orange Tarragon Chicken, fish meze and even Chateaubriand Bearnaise, all cooked with organic olive oil and low sodium salt. So you can eat, drink, and dance until the early hours – and come back for breakfast the next day!
